Tier-1 Bandwidth vs. The Other Guys

November 29, 2008

Many of our customers ask, "Why don't you give more bandwidth with your hosting packages?". This is an excellent question.

All Digital Connect servers offer High Performance Bandwidth Only. What does this mean? Here it is in a nutshell:

  1. Tier-1 Network
  2. High Performance Bandwidth Only
  3. Network Solely Dedicated to Managed Hosting, No Telecom Services
  4. Constant Network Monitoring for Latencies and Intrusion
  5. Proactive Network Management Methodology Improves Network Topology and Configuration Continuously

To some this might be confusing, understandable. But, to us tech geeks this means that your website isn't sharing space with much else. The entire system was built to be fast, lightening fast and reliable. Many hosts offer 200GB or even 2000GB of transfer bandwidth. How do they do this? Well first they have a very touchy SLA that says if you use a huge amount of download bandwidth (videos, music, etc) and this accounts for a large percentage of your bandwidth then they have the right to cancel you. They down right know that you will never use 200GB of bandwidth sharing HTML files. They setup your account and hope you use what every other average customer is using, approximately 100-500MB of bandwidth a month.

So why is High Performance Bandwidth important? Well, simply if you are not going to use a huge quantity than you should have the best quality. Our bandwidth is always there, always fast, and super reliable. This is where many consumers make the mistake. They simply look for the biggest number and think, "That must be better". When it comes to bandwidth for 99% of all small businesses quantity is not a factor, quality is.

Digital Connect's eserve|host provides our customers with the most High Performance Bandwidth currently available to consumers. So make the right choice, quality over quantity.
